Hobart Van Zandt Bosworth, American actor.


Bosworth, Hobart Van Zandt was born on August 11, 1867 in Marietta, Ohio, United States. Son of Daniel Perkins and Clara Mumford (Van Zandt) Bosworth.

With McKee-Rankin Stock Company, Sanitary Francisco, 1885, later with Mistress D. P. Bowers & Company. In Mexico with Hermann, the magician, and for 10 years with the Augustin Daly Stock Company, New York. Spent 9 years, in Colorado and the Southwest.

Became identified with motion pictures, 1909, as actor, later writer of scenarios and director. President Bosworth Company, which made a specialty of Jack London’s stories. Produced tabloid version of London’s Sea Wolf, in vaudeville, 1917.
