She attended Greenbank High School in Southport.
Her debut album Long Way Home was released on 4 March 2016. In adding the Scandinavian character Å to her last name, it was chosen in part due to her perceived ties with Scandinavia through her Scottish heritage, as well as how it looked when written. In 2011 at the age of 14 she was nominated by her teachers as a "Gold Ambassador" to promote sports and the Olympics in her school on behalf of the Youth Sport Trust.
Her sporting interests included yachting.
2013–present
She played the British Broadcasting Corporation Introducing stage at Glastonbury Festival in June 2014 having been championed by British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 1 DJ"s Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe. Her track Painter (Valentine) was playlisted by British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 1 in September 2014 and received daytime airplay.
Låpsley signed with Extra Large Recordings in October 2014. On 30 November 2014, Låpsley was revealed as one of acts on the British Broadcasting Corporation Sound of..2015 long list.
Her Understudy European Parliament was released on 5 January 2015.
Her debut album Long Way Home was released on 4 March 2016. Låpsley still enjoys yachting and owns a boat called Theodore. Her popular song "Station" was reportedly inspired by fellow Liverpudlian teenager Adam Mackie.
