Horiguchi Daigaku was born in 1892.
Stayed in Mexico, South America and Europe for ten years, following his father, Kumaichi, who was Ambassador to Brazil.
Returning to Japan (1925) joined the Shin-Shisha group of poets around Mrs. Akiko Yosano and published a number of collection of his poems. Also translated works of Guillaume Apollinaire, Jean Cocteau, Paul Morand, Joseph Kessel, etc.
