Background

Hosai Ozaki was born in 1885 in Tottori, Japan

He abandoned his business career and his family fortune (1923) and entered a life of service to others.

Cultivated haiku poetry as his sole hobby. His master was Seisensui Ogiwara but the spirit of his poetry was of an older school.
