Howard Alan Eagles, Australian Agronomist. Achievements include demonstration that soybeans could be a viable commercial crop in northern New South Wales; development of procedures to study the genetics of growth of seedlings under low temperature conditions; demonstration that highland Mexican maize could improve maize for cool, temperate environments; development of inbred lines of maize from predominantly highland Mexican germ plasm.
