He also participated in the 300 metre free rifle event and finished 37th. Four years later he was part of the Finnish team which finished fifth in the team free rifle competition. In the 300 metre free rifle, three positions event he finished 39th and in the 100 metre running deer, single shots competition he finished 21st.
