Quotations: "I always have written. I have kept diaries for more than sixty years. They have been stored away in boxes and foot lockers. I write about the people I am with - customers, family members, students in my confirmation classes at the temple. I write personal views about politics, books I’ve read, organizations I work with. My diaries are spiced with poems, philosophy, just the thoughts of an ordinary guy. They contain nothing profound. The writing is simple. They contain a considerable amount of conversation, very often conversation (dialogue) with myself."
Hyman Samuelson was a Jewish community leader serving as President of Congregation Beth Israel and The Jewish Federation of Austin. He was active in many other Jewish organizations and was instrumental in the formation of the Jewish Community Center and Child Development Center at Congregation Beth Israel. He was also passionate about his involvement with The Circle of Friends Alzheimer's Group.
