Career
He was an employee of the Nagano Prefectural Office and then of the Railways Bureau. Was an instructor of drawing at the Tokyo Higher Normal School briefly. Although he was an artist of the traditional Japanese school, he later switched to Western painting. Became famous as an illustrator for the Myojo, a poetry magazine. Was a popular illustrator of poetry books and magazines.
