Igor Volotovsky is a Belorussian biophysicist.


Since 1980 Doctor of Biological Sciences, 1986 - Corresponding Member of the Belarussian Academy of Sciences, 1988 - Professor, 1994 - academic of Belarussian National Academy of Sciences, from 1985 to present - Director of the Institute, from 1997 to May 2000 - Vice President, National Academy of Sciences, from May to September 2000 - Acting President of National Academy of Sciences, from 2002 to present - Academician-secretary of Department of biological Sciences of Belarussian National Academy of Sciences.

author of more than 400 scientific papers and patents, 4 books, a textbook, "Photobiology" (2 editions), which became a handbook for students of biophysics in Belarus and other CIS countries, and non-fiction books. He has prepared 19 candidates of sciences, is the head of four graduate students.
