Ikutaro Shimizu was a professor at Gakushiiin University. Director of the Twentieth Century Research Institute. After having been professor at Jochi (Sophia) University and an editorial writer of the Yomiuri Shimbun (newspaper), he became head of the Twentieth Century Research Institute after the war.
