Pupil of A. Aleksidze, and at ballet school under M. Perini, 1922-1924.
Trained at the studio of Georgian Folk Dance. Debut in Georgian folk dances on the variety stage, 1924. With the Paliashvili Theatre (with intervals), 1926-1945.
Producer of and dancer in Georgian operatic dances. Concurrently produced Georgian dances at the Shevchenko Theatre, at the Stanislavskii and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre, and at the Leningrad Theatre of Musical Comedy. Gold medallist at the International Festival of Folk Dance, 1935.
Soloist with the Song and Dance Ensemble under A. Aleksandrov, 1939-1940. Leading dancer in and producer of Georgian dances with the Song and Dance Ensemble of the NKVD, 1939. Organizer (with N. Ramishvili)ofthe Ensemble of Georgian Folk Dance, and one of its leading dancers and its director and artistic director until 1954.
Stalin Prize, 1949. Winner ot the S. Rustaveli Georgian State Prize, 1973.
