In the reign of Empress Regnant Suiko, he went to China as the first Japanese envoy during the Sui Dynasty (607). Came back to Japan after a little more than a year. He reported to the Empress that a message entrusted with him by Emperor Yang of China had been robbed in Kudara (Korea) while en route back to Japan.
