Iosif Adamovich graduated from the natural department of the pedagogical faculty of Voronezh State University (1925).
In 1925-1929, teacher, director of the school at the Liski station of the Southeast Railway. In 1929-1930, inspector of the education department of the Southeast Railway. Since 1933, associate professor, professor of the Department of Higher Plants, since 1948, the head of the Department of Darwinism, Genetics and Plant Breeding of Voronezh State University, at the same time in 1930-1938 the head of the Department of General Biology of Voronezh State Medical Institute. In 1933-1935, 1945-1950, Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Soil of Voronezh State University.
Iosif Adamovich is the author of over 100 works, including books: "The Leninist Concept of Development and the Theory of C. Darwin" (Voronezh, 1952), "Ecology of the Swaddle Flower: The Experience of a Stationary Study of the Antecology of a Species" (Voronezh, 1967).
