Ippolit Paulinovich graduated from the 1st Pavlovsky School. In 1866-1872, studied at the Mikhailovsky Voronezh Cadet Corps, and in 1882, graduated from the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff.
Career
In 1891-1892, Ippolit was a Chief of Staff of the Bendery Fortress, in 1892-1894, the 20th, and in 1894-1898, the 38th Infantry Divisions.
In 1898-1900, Commander of the 150th Infantry Taman Regiment. In 1900-1902, Chief of Staff of the 17th Army Corps.
In 1902-1904, District quartermaster-general of the troop's headquarters of the Guard and the St. Petersburg Military District.
In 1904-1912, Head of the 4th Infantry Division.
In 1912-1917, Commander of the 14th Army Corps.
Since 1918, he served in The Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and taught tactics at the command courses in Nizhny Novgorod.
