Career
She is Indonesia"s first chess Woman Grand Master (WGM). In 2014, she became the first Indonesian female to reach a full International Master (IM) title. She has represented Indonesia in five Chess Olympiads, in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2014.
Later that year she scored 7.5/9 and came third in the 2005 Jababeka Women"s International tournament, behind Jana Krivec and Nana Alexandria.
In June 2007, she came equal second, with Jana Krivec, in the Jakarta EWS Cup, behind Regina Pokorna. The following month she came third in the 2008 Japfa Chess Festival WGM event in Jakarta, behind Li Ruofan and Regina Pokorna.
She came equal fourth in the Asian Zonal 3.3 Chess Championships in Ho Chi Minh City in 2009. In July 2010, Sukandar scored 7/9 and came equal first in the Brunei Invitational IM Tournament, earning an open International Master (IM) norm result.
She collected a total of 7.0/9 points.
Sukandar collected 7.5/9 points. She was 2 points ahead of the runner up, Alina Kashlinskaya.
