Career

Joined the Red Navy and the Communist Party, 1918. Naval artillery expert in the Baltic fleet, 1927-1930. Head of the naval artillery defence of Leningrad, 1941 — 43.

Head of the navy’s artillery department, 1943-1945. Taught at the Naval Academy, 1946-1960.

The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
