Ivan MISHENIN, USSR Therapeutist and clinician. Professor; Head, Chair of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases, Minsk Medicine Institute, since 1949; Honorary Physician of Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. Order of Lenin; Order of Red Banner of Labor, 1961; Order of Red Star; medal “For Defence of the Caucasus"; other medals; badge “Outstanding Public Health Worker”.


MISHENIN, Ivan was born in 1899 in Mariupol.


1921 graduated Medical Faculty, Don University, Rostov-on-Don.


Chairman, Minsk City Society of Therapeutists, and consultant at various medical institutions and medical and health sections of industrial enterprises. Introduced method of extra-vascular blood transfusion, theoretically founded by Professor F. A. Yakhimovich. Suggested original method of liver palpitation and detection of fluid in the abdominal cavity.

Developed methods of protecting industrial workers from catarrhal diseases. Author of over 80 works dealing with methods of diagnosis and treatment of renal diseases. Epidemic hepatitis; arteriosclerosis and cardiac angina.

Blood transfusion; prophylaxis and assanation of patients with chronic angina, etc. 1921-1938 physician in hospitals of Nalchik and Ordzhonikidze and at Chair of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases, Rostov-onDon Medicine Institute. 1938-1945 Head, Chair of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases, Dagestan Medicine Institute.

1941-1945 simultaneously therapeutist at several evacuation hospitals.
