After that, he was appointed rector at the Communist University in Voronezh, where he worked for 2 years. From 1931 to 1932, he served as a senior officer of the regional committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of the Central Black Earth Oblast. From 1932 to 1934, Ivan was the rector of Voronezh State University. Later, his tenure as a senior officer of the Kursk Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) lasted for 3 years. In 1937 he was unfairly repressed and executed.
