In 1932 he finished 7-year school and in 1934 - School of factory apprenticeships in Orsha.
He studied at junior aviation specialists’ school in Moscow military district.
In 1940 he graduated from Bataisky military aviation school of pilots.
In 1948, he finished Lipetsk High Officer flight tactics courses.
In 1955, he finished advanced training courses, The Air Force Academy.

He was born February 2 (15), 1917 in Minsk in the family of the workers. In 1932 he finished 7-year school and in 1934 - School of factory apprenticeships in Orsha. He worked as an assistant to the machinist, a mechanic and technician for locomotives at the locomotive depot of the Orsha station.
In 1938 he was recruited to the army. He studied at junior aviation specialists’ school in Moscow military district.
In 1940 he graduated from Bataisky military aviation school of pilots. He served in Air Forces in the West and Kievsky Special military districts.
June-September 1941 – the commander of the squadron, the 88th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment
1941-July 1942 - the commander of the squadron, the 249th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment
July 1942 -1945 – the wing commander, the commander of the squadron, the 40th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment
He took part in battles above South-West, South, North-Caucasus, Voronezh and 1st Ukraine fronts. He was a participant of defense battles in Ukraine, Caucasus, battles for Dnepr, liberation of Ukraine and Poland, in Berlin and Prague combat operations.
Semeniuk committed 396 flights and in 113 air battles hit 18 enemy aircraft alone, and 9 – as a part of the group battle.
By the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR’s Decree, July 1, 1944, he was awarded Hero of the Soviet Union title for “courage and heroism” and received Order of Lenin.
After the war, he continued his service in Air Forces.
In 1948, he finished Lipetsk High Officer flight tactics courses. He was deputy commander and regiment commander (in the Primorsky Military District).
Lieutenant Colonel I.I. Semeniuk participated in The Korean War 1950-1953. However, he caught an illness and was evacuated in the Soviet Union.
In 1953-1955, he was the commander of the 722th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment.
In 1955, he finished advanced training courses, The Air Force Academy. He worked as the Deputy Commander of the division (Prikarpatsky military district).
In 1961, Colonel I.I. Semeniuk was sent to the reserve.
He lived in Minsk.
He died on April 6, 1973 and was buried on East cemetery, Minsk.
