In 1936 he graduated seven classes from the school of Makovsky

In 1940, after graduating from college, worked as a technician brick factory in Bialystok. He wrote poetry and published. He worked as senior editor of the publishing house of the Belarusian State, the chief editor of the anthology "Soviet Motherland." Since 1954, worked for many years Vice-President of the Union of Writers of the BSSR. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR (1963-85 gg.). Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR (1971-85 gg.).
