Vachala Ivan Ivanovich (Yan Rodomil) was born on March 02,1862 in Petrovac.
Since the autumn of 1893, professor of the history of theology at the theological faculty of Yurievsky University. Author of many scientific studies (since 1882). Published in German, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Russian. The main works are devoted to the study of the creative heritage of the Czech thinker and teacher Jan Amos Komensky, whose works Kvachala collected and published.
Kvachala's work on the Italian philosophy and poet Tommaso Campanella is featured in the Petersburg journal of the Ministry of Education (1906-1907).
In 1918, Kvachala together with the Yuryevsk was evacuated to the city of Voronezh, where he was a member of the provincial museum and a member of the scientific methodical section of the provincial department of national education, taught the course "Cultural history" in the local conservatory.
In the summer of 1920 he returned to Slovakia, was a professor at the Higher Theological School in Bratislava.
