Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Moscow University (1888).
Associate Professor, Professor of Yurievsky University (1893-1918). In July 1918, he was evacuated with the university to Voronezh. Professor of Voronezh State University. In the summer of 1919, Grabar and his wife left Voronezh, since 1922 they lived in Moscow, where Grabar became a professor at Moscow University and a legal advisor to the People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade. Later - a research associate at the Institute of Law of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the All-Union Institute of Law.
