In 1941-1945 Ivan Mikhailovich served as a musician in the Ural and Odessa military districts. Bayan player, accompanist, orchestra leader, music director of the Voronezh State Academic Russian Folk Choir named after K.I. Massalitinov (1945-1977), artist of the Voronezh Philharmonic (1979-1991). Performer on folk harmonics of all varieties. Author of folk song and tunes, many of which are published.
