Graduated from Meiji Gakuin where he studied theology.
He worked as a minister until 1920. Iwasaburo Okino turned a writer after his "Fate" won a novel contest sponsored by the Osaka Asahi Shimbun newspaper (1919).He subsequently wrote more than 80 books, mostly novels which include "Shooting Stars" and "Rain of Bricks." Also wrote a life of Christ and a biography of Helen Keller.
