Warden Folsom Prison, 1912-1913, San Quentin Prison, 1913-1925 (resigned). Vice president American Trust Company, San Francisco, 1925-1932. Appointed warden United States Penitentiary, Alcatraz Island, California, January 1, 1934-April 30, 1948.

Now assistant director Federal Prison Bureau. Past president San Francisco Advertising Association.
