Political reporter Albany Argus, 1879-1882. Managing editor Albany Evening Journal, 1883-1889, New York Dramatic Mirror, 1891-1910. Became editor of Judge, 1912, his short stories and social satires being features of that publn.

Membership

Member American Press Humorists (president 1917-1918). Developed, 1888-1889, an analysis of the work of Shakespeare as a language creator, based on the history values of the Murray dictionary and the kindred relations of Shakespeare’s contemporaries.
