Acting secretary of the Lumberman’s Exchange and Lumber Manufacturers Association of the Northwest, 1885, and was correspondent of several eastern trade journals.
Established The Timberman, 1886. Assumed editorial and business management of The Young Men’s Era, International official organ of the Young Men’s Christian Association, 1893-1896, in connection with his other interests. Consolidated the Timberman and Northwestern Lumberman, January 1, 1899, and became its editor and publisher.
