Davies was a Nurse and Midwife in the 1960s. Contested Pontypridd 1983 General Election, Brecon and Radnor 1985 By-Election, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney 1987 General Election.
She was Chief Whip for the Plaid Group in the National Assembly. In the Second Assembly (2003-2007) she was Chair for the following committees: Audit Committee.
