Career
January ter Laan was a younger brother of Kornelis ter Laan. After primary school he went to work on his father"s farm. January succeeded then in the practice of taxes.
In 1929 he was elected alderman of that city, but was not successful.
After two years he resigned. He remained an Member of Parliament until September 1941, with a break during his alderman between November 1929 and October 1931.
In the room he was mainly concerned with civil affairs Together they had four daughters.
He died at almost 84 years old.
