Background
He was born on 1 May 1949 and obtained primary and secondary schooling in Tando Muhammad Khan, followed by Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at then Liaquat Medical College (LMC), with distinction in Surgery.

Career
He then pursued Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons United Kingdom, qualifying in first attempt. He returned to Pakistan in 1979 and joined LMC as Assistant Professor of Surgery. Being a son of the soil, he has recently founded Indus Medical College in the under developed Tando Muhammad Khan district along with a state of the art hospital.
He is also overlooking several other public and private social initiatives in rural Sindh.
Memon was also involved with College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) initially as Advisor Academics with additional charge of Registrar CPSP and then Secretary CPSP. Secretary CPSP, Registrar CPSP and Advisor Academics - Between 2009 and 2011 Principal & Chairman Academic Council LMC - 1996 to 2001 Dean Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Sindh University - 1996 to 2001 Professor of Surgery - From 1979 to 2009 Registrar and Senior Resident at various United Kingdom hospitals - 1973 to 1979.
Achievements

Contributed significantly towards development of medical education and health systems in Pakistan. Numerous achievements over a career spanning more than three decades. During his tenure, LUMHS was ranked as the second best medical university in Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission Pakistan.
