Ordained to ministry Congregational Church. Pastor Killingworth (now Clinton) (Connecticut) Church, 1708-1763. Trustee Yale Corporation, 1730-1763.

Fellow Royal Society of London, 1757-1763.

One of 1st to develop iron ore beds in Northwestern Connecticut. Helped introduce silk culture into colony.

His medical practice wide and successful. Author: Essay on Field Husbandry in New England, 1759.
