Jason Baitieri is a French-Australian professional rugby league football player for the Catalans Dragons of Super League.
Background
The son of former player and coach Tas Baitieri, Jason was born in Paris, but played junior rugby league in Toulouse before returning to Castle Hill, New South Wales when he was 8 to play for the Hills District Bulls, a team in the Parramatta District Junior Rugby League competition, based in Baulkham Hills.
Career
A France international representative forward, he previously played for the Sydney Roosters of the National Rugby League. He also played for the Australian Schoolboys rugby league team He made his first grade debut against the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown in May 2010.
He has signed a two-year deal with the Catalans Dragons in France.
At the end of the 2010 season he represented France in the Alitalia European Cup. He also played in a friendly international against England in 2011, 2012 Autumn International Series and he captained his country for the first time in their 2014 European Cup campaign.
After missing France"s first match of the 2015 European Cup and test-match with England due to injury, Jason returned to captain France in their European Cup match against Wales.
