Misset received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Paris in 1972.
Misset began his career as a head of medical oncology department in 1989. Twelve years later he took the same position at Saint-Louis Hospital. Also since 2001 Misset has been a professor of oncology at the Paris Diderot University.
He is an experienced Key Opinion Leader within oncology who has served as an advisor to several big Pharma Companies. In addition, Misset has worked on the clinical development of drugs including Topotecan, Docetaxel, Alimta and Herceptin.
He was a president of the French National College of Professors in Oncology and of the Institut de Cancérologie et d'Immunogénétique.
Misset served as a chairman of Global Oncology Advisory Board at TopoTarget A/S. He is a chairman of Scientific & Medical Advisory Board at AVAX Technologies Inc.
He is a member of the French National Council of Universities and president of the scientific board for Positon Emission Tomography in Oncology at Assistance Publique-Hopitaux de Paris. Also Misset is a member of the editorial board of Critical Reviews in Oncology and Hematology, The Oncologist and European Journal of Cancer.
On December 13, 1973 Jean-Louis Misset married Agnes de Raulin. They have 4 children.
