This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. Excerpt from A Concise Description of the English and French Possessions in North-America: For the Better Explaining of the Map Published With That Title The Map of the English and French Possessions in North-America, which I have just now published, is the XIVth of my Atlas Methodique. I had no manner of Design at first to have given it separately, but have been obliged to do so for particular Reasons. The Method in which I have coloured it, will easily discover the English and French Possessions, as well the Countries that are now the Subject of Litigation between those two Nations, as the Forts which the French have built, or taken in the Midst of the English Colonies, and in the Countries claimed by the English. He worked as an agent in London for the French States General, and taught French to the children of George World War II While working as London agent for Jacob Boreel, Palairet apparently played a part in introducing the game of cricket to the Netherlands: in 1765 he sent four balls and 12 bats to the Netherlands, and attempted to find a copy of a rule-book for the game.
