Angelis, Jefferson De was born on November 30, 1859 in San Francisco, California, United States. Son of John and Susan D.

Education

Education common schools, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and New York.

Career

Entered the theatrical profession as a child, appearing in single act in vaudeville, 1874. Toured Australia, China, Japan, Burma, India, South Africa, etc., with own company, 1880-1884. With McCaull Opera Company, 1887-1890.

Leading comedian, Casino, New York City, 1890-1893. Under own management, 1902-1905. Starred in Fantana, 1904, The Great White Way, 1907, The Beauty Spot, 1908.

Has played rôle of Ko-Ko in 12 productions of the Mikado, and sung in more than 100 operas. Dramatic performances include, “Revelry,” “School for Scandal,” “The Royal Family,” “Apron Strings.”.
