In 1968, Jeffrey received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Later, he continued his education at Long Island University, graduating with a Master of Arts degree in 1973. In 1980, Rubin-Dorsky received a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Chicago.
In 1980, Jeffrey began his career as a professor of English at the University of California, Los Angeles, a post he held till 1988, when he was appointed a professor of English at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Jeffrey Rubin-Dorsky is a well-known Professor of English and author of such books, as "Adrift in the Old World: The Psychological Pilgrimage of Washington Irving" and "People of the Book: Thirty Scholars Reflect on Their Jewish Identity".
