Stocker graduated from Muhlenberg College with Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980. Three years later he received Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Temple University.
Stocker worked at the Stocker & Worthington Law Offices in Jenkintown from 1983. He has been licensed for 35 years. Stocker is the author of books titled From Huntsville to Appomattox, and Isn't This Glorious: The 15th, 19th, And 20th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiments at Gettysburg's Copse of Trees; he conducted researches on the Army of Northern Virginia, especially in the Gettysburg campaign, for the last book.
