Education

Cumberland University, Bachelor of Laws Engaged in practice of law in Dyersburg. since 1915, except two yrs. while in Army; served as City Attorney eight yrs. Enlisted in Second Tennessee Infantry., National. Guard, 1917; First Lieutenant, 1917; transferred with Co. 119 Infantry., 30 Division. and served with regt. throughout World War in France and Belgium; promoted Captain, 1918, and served for awhile as Regimental Adjutant, 119 Infantry
