Jerry Jones was born on December 10, 1964, in Wilmington, California. He is the son of Jerry and Vay Jean Jones.
Jerry Jones graduated from Ambassador University, where he got a Bachelor of Arts in 1988. He also studied at Texas A&M University. There Jerry got a Master of Science in 1992. Besides, Jerry Jones attended the University of North Texas, where he received a Doctor of Philosophy in 1995.
Jerry Jones's specialties are military history, diplomacy, and modern European history. He started to work at the University of Central Texas in 1996, and in 1999 Jerry joined Tarleton State University-Central Texas as an assistant professor of history. In 2001 Jerry Jones was appointed to the Academy of Educator Faculty, part of the Texas A&M University System Regents' Initiative. Also, Jerry was the first chair of the Department of Humanities at Texas A&M University.
Also, Jerry Jones is a writer. He is currently the author of the United States Battleship Operations in World War I. He has published in the Naval War College Review and has served as a guest lecturer for the United States Naval War College Fleet Seminar Program since 2002. In 2011 Jerry was featured in a lecture series on American History Television.
Jerry Jones is widely known as an educator. In 2001 he was appointed to the Academy of Educator Faculty, part of the Texas A&M University System Regents' Initiative for Excellence in Educator Preparation. He recognized as Distinguished Graduate Faculty in 2013. Also, Jerry was the first chair of the Department of Humanities at Texas A&M University. Besides, he received a Texas A&M University-Central Texas Service Award at The 9th annual Texas A&M University-Central Texas Service Awards Luncheon recognizing 5, 10, 20 & 25 years of service.
