She represented Arkansas in the Mission United States Teen pageant in 2000 and was also Mission Teen Arkansas International 2000. Furrer attended college at the University of Central Arkansas and was involved with the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority. Her hobbies and interests include spending time with family and friends, collecting hard to find DVDs, working out, along with any other outdoor activities, playing with her dog Snickers, card nights with her friends, and reading.
Furrer competed for Arkansas in the Mission United States of America 2005 pageant held in Baltimore, Maryland in April 2005. She placed in the top fifteen in the pageant, which was won by Chelsea Cooley of North Carolina. Furrer"s placement was her state"s first since 1982, when Terri Utley won the Mission United States of America crown. Furrer, who comes from Conway, Arkansas, had previously placed fourth runner-up in the Mission Arkansas Teen United States of America 2001 pageant, which was won by Lauren Arnold.
