Jiro Nishimura graduated from Tokyo Commercial Department of Tokyo University and entered Dentsu (news service and advertising agency) (1928).
Jiro Nishimura assigned to Communications Department of the Dentsu (1931). Transferred to Domei News Agency (1936) and became vice-director of its Political Department and Research Department of Planning Bureau (1942), and director of Naikokubu International Affairs Department (1944). He entered Niigata Nippo and served as its chief editor, director, editorial writer and president (since 1950). Holds additional posts of director of Nihon Shimbun Kyokai (Japan Newspaper Association), Kyodo News Agency and Radio Niigata Broadcasting Corporation (since 1952).
