Jitsusaburo Samejima graduated from the Chemistry Section, Tokyo University (1914).
Jitsusaburo Samejima became instructor at his alma mater and studied in Europe and the United States. He was appointed assistant professor at Tohoku University (1921) and then professor. Became professor at Tokyo University (1923) and received his doctorate (1925).
Resigned from the post due to age limit and appointed professor at Saitama University (1951-1954). He was awarded the Sakurai Prize of the Japan Chemical Society.
