Jiunn-Der Liao, Chinese materials scientist, educator. Liao, Jiunn-Der was born on February 2, 1961 in Tiachung, Taiwan. Son of Mao-Sung Liao and Sher-Er Lai.


Bachelor in Material Science Engineering, National National Cheng-Kung University University, 1984. Master in Material Science Engineering, Catholic University Leuven, 1989. Master in biomedical Engineering, Catholic University Leuven, 1991.

Doctor in Materials Science and Engineering, Ecole National Superieure des Mines and Institute National Polytechnic Grenoble, 1994.


Research fellow Ministry Industry, France, 1991—1995, University Heidelberg, 1995—1996. Associate professor biomedical engineering Chung Yuan Christian University, Taoyuan, Taiwan, 1996—2002.
