Brother of Richard Yerkes C. Bachelor of Arts, Central High School, Philadelphia, 1859.

Career

Admitted to bar, 1863. Adopted journalism as profession. War correspondent with Army of Potomac, 1862-1863.

On editorial staff Public Ledger, 1865-1906, and its financial editor, 1883-1906. On staff of foreign correspondence London Times, 1865-1907.
