Cox played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons. He ended his career there as one of its all-time top scorers, lifting the team to a 2005 National Invitation Tournament (National Institute of Technology) appearance. Cox has previously represented Venezuela internationally on multiple occasions.
He played for the team at the 2012 International Basketball Federation World Olympic Qualifying Tournament and the 2015 Pan American Games.
Cox"s father is Chubby Cox, who played for the Washington Bullets of the National Basketball Association (National Basketball Association). He is also the cousin of Kobe Bryant.
