Ried (Mistress Royal L. Gardner). Ordained ministry of Methodist Episcopal Church, South, 1894. Pastor of chs. in North Carolina and Arkansas until 1906.

Pastor of Epworth University Church, Berkeley, California, 1906-1917 and 1928-1934. Presiding elder Los Angeles District, Pacific Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church, South, 1934-1939. Later pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, Berkeley, California.

Now pastor of Asbury Methodist Church, Livermore, California.
