In 2012 Johnson"s team discovered three exoplanets, including the smallest one found to date, orbiting a red dwarf using the Kepler orbital telescope. A subsequent study used the host star"s similarity to Barnard"s star and observations from the Keck Observatory to determine more information about the system and the size of its three planets.
