Mizroch began his career as a deputy assistant secretary of commerce for trade development and international trade administration at the United States Department of Commerce in 1987. Two years later he took a position of an advisor to the minority at Joint Economic Comittee of the Congress, where he worked until 1990. In 1993, he was appointed a president of the Environmental Export Council.
John worked as a president and chief executive officer at the World Environment Center from 2000 to 2006. In 2006, he became an acting assistant secretary at the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Then in 2009, Mizroch held a position of an Of Counsel at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati. Since 2011 he has been a managing member at John F. Mizroch, LLC. He is also an attorney, having been in private practice and serving as a prosecutor for two years in Arlington, Virginia.
Mizroch is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Virginia, District of Columbia Bar, Trade and Environmental Policy Advisory Committee and Cleaner Fossil Fuel Systems Advisory Committee.
Mizroch is married to Martha Melissa Bankston. They have four children.
