John Newton studied at the Saint Martins School of Art (now Central Saint Martins) in London in 1953-1955 and at Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester.
Career
In 1980s John Newton worked with the Artists in the Schools Program sponsored by the Ontario Arts Council in Dunbarton, Ontario, Canada, and is a visiting artist through the Canada Council at the Atikokan Centennial Museum. In 1979 he was a visiting artist at the Emily Carr College of Art in Vancouver and at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada. From 1976 to 1978 John Newton served in the Artists with Their Work Program at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
