John Pizer graduated from University of Washington, receiving Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975, Master of Arts in 1979 and Doctor of Philosophy in 1985.
Between 1982 and 1983 he was an assistant editor of Papers on French Seventeenth Century Literature. In 1985 Mr. Pizer was appointed proofreader and editor of software user manuals in German by Microsoft Corp., Bellevue, WA. Since 1987 he held the post of professor of German at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.
John Pizer has been a contributor to books and of about thirty articles and reviews to academic journals, including German Studies Review, Lessing Yearbook, Modern Austrian Literature, Germanic Review, Philosophy and Literature, and New German Critique. He was a Germanics editor of Eighteenth Century: A Current Bibliography since 1992.
